‘CALL FOR SITES’

Renewable and Low Carbon Energy

As part of the ongoing Review of the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP), the South Worcestershire Councils (Worcester City, Wychavon, Malvern Hills) are conducting a Call for Sites inviting landowners to submit land for potential large scale renewable and low carbon energy projects (solar farms, wind turbines, biomass etc.).

Having a site designated would not mean that the land in question gets developed, but it would mean that if a developer were looking for sites, priority would almost certainly go to such sites as the planning process would be much more straightforward.

To stand a chance of being included, a site would probably need to be in excess of 15 acres and not have any existing environmental designations. Land that is prominent in the landscape or close to housing is also likely to be ruled out.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Friday 27 March 2020.

Please contact us on 01684 325215 for more information or if you would like help making a submission.
